1/8/17 Interview

Over the weekend I was able to get in contact with Nick and ask some questions regarding my article. First, I had him give me a basic overview of his schedule for a week and then we discussed details that I will mention in my article. He told me that Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday are his busiest days of the week. Typically he starts off one of these days by having a one hour workout in the morning. He has the option of 7am or 8am. Nick usually prefers to go to the 7am workout so he has a little extra time between his workout and class. He returns to his dorm after is workout, takes a nap, and then heads to class at 11:15 (no class on Saturday). He is in class for an hour. Baseball practice is between 130-530 so nick grabs something to eat after class and then quickly goes to his dorm to change. His practice doesn't have an exact start time so he usually shows up between 2-230 and stays until 530-6  because pitchers have to stay later on some days. After practice Nick grabs dinner and then goes to tutoring anytime between 6-10. He usually arrives around 730 and stays the rest of the time, he only goes on days he feels he needs extra help because tutoring is optional. After tutoring Nick goes back to his dorm, finishes any homework he has left, and then gets ready for bed. On Tuesday and Thursday, Nicks schedule is the same except he does not have morning workouts. Sunday is their only day off. Nick usually spends his time finishing up any assignments he has left over from the week and then he hangs out with friends and try's to relax. Throughout this interview I gained insight into the busy schedule of a D1 college athlete. - Hope Bumgarner
